I’m used to thriving in places that weren’t built for me. 

 My undergraduate institution, the university of Virginia, was built by a man who enslaved and violated my people. I thrived there academically and created abundantly. 

 I went to bat with my graduate institution because the parameters they set for core curriculums were literally wrong and r*cist. 

They were changed.

 I was the English literature major in ad tech companies like twitter, who’s sat in front of corporate executive and business development personnel and translated complex engineering vernacular in a way they could grasp and invest in 

 in fact I regularly would be told by people, at work and school, that I was way smarter than they thought I would be based on their first, physical, impression of me 

 And to be clear — that sh*t was f*cking HARD. 

I experienced violence, and vitriol, and pushback, and people who didn’t take me seriously no matter what I did — 

 And still. I march in rallies and protests and write think pieces and regularly say f*ck you to the legacy of the Roman Empire and the racist fascists who believe my existence should be illegal. 

and that's why i created mystic school

Because if I'm going to be inconvenient, and misunderstood, and potentially disliked or misjudged, why not center the things I care about? 

 And express myself the way that I want to? 

 And connect with the people who do f*cking get it? 

And create the school I always dreamed of

about me: 

Hi I'm olivia magdalena (she/they). I'm a threshold bearer, a wisdom keeper, a magdalene priestess, and somatic practitioner of over a decade. My work supports the deconstructing, rebellious mystics and sovereign, prophetic spiritualists, who are ready to courageously integrate your shadows and step forward as stewards of your sacred calling. 

As a queer, neurodivergent, Afro-latina bruja, I'm forever deconstructing from organized religion and smashing the f*ck out of patriarchal, colonial systems of oppression through the reclamation of spiritual authority and somatic sovereignty. 

An academic by training and a mystic by nature, I've supported hundreds of women and femmes in their individual and collective healing journeys. 

My work helps you develop a deep irreverence to dogmatic systems of oppression, embody a resilient devotion to the persistent calling of your sacred hearts, and tend to the wild rebellious soul that lives within. 

When I'm offline, I can be found dancing my heart out or crying at the moves. I'm the oldest of four siblings, a voracious reader, a passionate friend, and devoted plant parent.

FAQ

are calls recorded? 

yes! if you aren't able to join live, all calls are recorded + in the course portal 

is the reading required? 

no! everything is self selected -- and you won't *need* to do the readings to understand the class lectures, but they will enhance it! 

is this a magdalene priestess ordination? 

it is not! You can explore a Magdalene Priestess Ordination via the Magdalene Mentorship: a 12 month 1:1 mentorship, which can be done in conjunction with the mystic school at a discounted rate

are you offering scholarships for this course? 

absolutely! a select number of scholarships are available, with priority given to  queer and BIPOC folks. reach out to me at [email protected] if you'd like to join and are in need of financial support.

will there be homework assessments/projects? 

yes! there will be four major "assignments"

1. A mindset practice for the entire program 

2. A personal diety exploration project 

3. A mid-point reflection 

4. A final culmination project 


again, all of this is optional, and we'll go over it more together during the program, the goal is to help you curate your creative portfolio as you learn! 

what if i'm just starting out on his journey -- is this program for me? 

absolutely! whether you're a budding or experienced practitioner, this course is for you -- and will help you hone your skills, gain confidence, and exercise your spiritual and creative musculature, and deepen your spiritual, theological, and historical understanding of the magadalene -- and so much more  

i have religious trauma, is this for me? 

 only you can really know that answer - while this is a wtichy deconstructed space, the gospel of mary does carry much of christian mythos -- jesus, the apostles, they're all mentioned -- and this work is truly reclamation work, meaning, we're reclaiming what was mistold and hidden. this can be comforting for some, but it can also be triggering, so my offering is you honor yourself and where you are in your process 

are the books included? 

they are not, but you are welcome to access the books however works for you -- audio book, library books, whatever you need! 

what are your credentials to teach this material?

I'm a mystic by nature, but an academic by training. I have a master's degree in english literature from NYU and a bachelors in english literature from the University of Virginia. Over the past 7 years, i have been in my own deep study of all things Mary magdalene, teaching to hundreds of of mystics and academics. You can expect a combination of academic expertise, somatic support, and mystical magic.
